The Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority operates as a regulatory body, established in accordance with the Sindh Safe Blood Transfusion Act of 2017. Its primary objective is to guarantee the provision of safe blood across the province by establishing and enforcing stringent standards for blood safety. In addition to maintaining regulatory oversight over the sector, the Authority takes on a leadership role in steering the development of the blood transfusion sector. This involves raising awareness among the general public and blood bank personnel regarding safe blood transfusion practices, as well as providing training for various staff cadres involved in the process.
