										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 8th Board Meeting of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) was held today, 31st December 2025, under the chairmanship of Health Minister, Dr. Azra Pechuho, at her office, where the yearly progress of SBTA’s initiatives was thoroughly reviewed. The meeting provided a platform to evaluate achievements, challenges, and strategies for the year ahead.<br />
During the discussion, the board focused on advancing efforts for the prevention of Thalassemia and Hemophilia, ensuring the safe and timely provision of blood, and strengthening the implementation of NAT (Nucleic Acid Testing) to improve blood screening. Additionally, the development of plasma fractionation programs was highlighted as a key step toward enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.<br />

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Day 2 of the workshop continued with highly productive and impactful sessions focused on improving blood safety, strengthening thalassaemia services, and enhancing regulatory frameworks across Pakistan. The morning began with Technical Session III, featuring insightful presentations on Thalassaemia Regulation &amp; Prevention in Punjab by Prof. Shabnum Bashir, Quality Control in Blood Banking by Dr. Munira Burhani, and Challenges in Voluntary Blood Transfusion by AVM Aftab, followed by an interactive Q&amp;A session.<br />
A comprehensive panel discussion moderated by Dr. S.K. Pasha brought together leading experts—Prof. Saqib Ansari, Prof. Nazish Saqlain, Dr. Abdul Qayum, Col. Nadeem, and Dr. Arsalan Haider—who explored crucial themes including TTI screening, national data management, thalassaemia center performance, TDT drug repositioning, and rising HIV outbreaks. Later presentations included updates from across the country and the SBTA sector, with Dr. Durenaz Jamal, Secretary SBTA, delivering an important session on Sindh RBCs: Challenges, Stats &amp; Expansion Plans, highlighting SBTA’s ongoing commitment to safer and more efficient transfusion systems.<br />
We extend heartfelt thanks to all speakers, facilitators, and partnering institutions for contributing to this meaningful initiative. A special note of gratitude to Dr. Lou Depang, WHO Pakistan Representative, for his invaluable support, guidance, and continuous collaboration in strengthening national blood regulatory systems. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) hosted a productive meeting to welcome Brig (R) Syed Muhammad Waseem Wasti, the newly appointed COO of Fatimid Foundation.<br />
The meeting was attended by Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal (Secretary, SBTA), Brig. (R) Dr. Hamid Jamal Siddiqui (CEO, Regional Blood Centre Karachi), and Dr. Saqib Ali Shaikh (Director Health Services, Karachi Division) and Dr. Aftab Ahmed Mallah (Director, SBTA).<br />
The discussion focused on ongoing Fatimid Foundation projects and explored opportunities for strengthened collaboration to enhance safe and sustainable blood transfusion services across Sindh.<br />
Projects of Children’s Sindh Government Hospital, Karachi, including plans for their new building, were also discussed.<br />
Dr. Dur-e-Naz Jamal extended SBTA’s full support to Fatimid Foundation’s initiatives and reiterated the Authority’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and patient care.<br />
Together, we continue to work towards a safer and stronger blood transfusion network across the province.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On 9th May 2025, an emergency meeting of all district Larkana blood banks was held at the DHO Office, chaired by Dr. Muhammad Ali Bhutto and co-chaired by Dr. Farhan Ali Jokhio and Dr. Aneel Kumar.
