8th SBTA Board Meeting Update

The 8th Board Meeting of the Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) was held today, 31st December 2025, under the chairmanship of Health Minister, Dr. Azra Pechuho, at her office, where the yearly progress of SBTA’s initiatives was thoroughly reviewed. The meeting provided a platform to evaluate achievements, challenges, and strategies for the year ahead.
During the discussion, the board focused on advancing efforts for the prevention of Thalassemia and Hemophilia, ensuring the safe and timely provision of blood, and strengthening the implementation of NAT (Nucleic Acid Testing) to improve blood screening. Additionally, the development of plasma fractionation programs was highlighted as a key step toward enhancing patient care and treatment outcomes.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to enhancing blood safety, preventive healthcare, and public health initiatives across Sindh, reflecting SBTA’s continued dedication to the well-being of the community.
